Cara DiStefano each scored a pair of goals, but the Post University women's lacrosse team fell to Saint Thomas Aquinas College (STAC), 15-8 in a non-conference game.
The Eagles opened with a goal early from
Hailey McHenry to take a 1-0 lead at the 27:41 mark.
The Spartans scored the next five, giving them a 5-1 lead, and led 8-2 at halftime as DiStefano scored her first goal of the game in the first half.
Down 11-3, the Eagles (0-3) scored three straight to cut the deficit to 11-6 in the second half as DiStefano, senior
Lauren Chambers and Hermosura scored. Souto scored twice in the second half at the 8:16 mark and the 2:13 mark.
DiStefano has scored in all three games this season and has four goals on the season. This was her first multi-goal game.
Sophomore goalie
Christina Badaracco had 15 saves on the day for Post.
Leanna Lobbi and Kaitlyn Gutenberger each scored four goals for STAC (3-0).
Up next, the Eagles take on Southern Connecticut State University on the road at 1 p.m. on February 29.
