Myrtle Beach S.C. – The Post University baseball team finished its sweep in Myrtle Beach over the weekend, defeating Pace, St. Thomas Aquinas and Franklin Pierce during the weekend.
In a 14-4 win over Franklin Pierce on Sunday, junior
Matt Goehrig hit two home runs as part of a four home run assault by the Eagles against the Ravens.
Goehrig finished the game going 3-for-5 with seven RBI.
After a scoreless first four innings, Post scored two in the top of the first on a two-run homer by Goehrig.
The Ravens responded with three in the bottom of the inning, but Goehrig answered with a grand slam, giving the Eagles the 6-3 lead.
Coming into the top of the eighth leading 6-4, the Eagles were able to put the game away, as Goehrig hit an RBI single.
Kwan Jones added a two run single and
Christian Aliberti – a three-run homer - and
Tyler Melko hit back-to-back home runs to give the Eagles the ten-run lead.
Aliberti finished the game 2-for-5 with three RBI and a run.
Devon Ogston was 1-for-2 with three runs to go along with two walks. Jones was 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run.
On the mound, the Eagles pitching staff combined for seven strikeouts, including three from starter
Dan Raglievich, who pitched four innings.
Jacob Tamburrino earned the win with two strikeouts in two innings of relief.
Post 3, St. Thomas Aquinas 1
Goehrig hit a pinch-hit tiebreaking homer in the bottom of the sixth to lift the Eagles to a 3-1 win over the Spartans in Saturday's nightcap in the seven inning game.
After the first two batters were retired,
Thomas DiRusso singled, setting the stage for Goehrig, who hit his first homer of the season.
Chas Cywin would finish his final inning of relief, leaving runners on the corner as the Eagles closed out the game. Cywin finished with four strikeouts in 2.1 innings of relief.

Post 11, Pace 6
On Saturday, the Eagles rallied from an early 4-1 deficit to defeat the Setters, 11-6 and hit three more homers on the day in the first of two games on the day.
After falling behind 4-1 after the first, the Eagles responded with four runs in the top of the second, highlighted by a two-run double from
Brycin Hernandez that tied the game, 4-4. A bases loaded walk by Keith gave the Eagles a 5-4 lead.
The Setters tied the game in the bottom of the third, but Post responded with back-to-back three-run innings as
Alec Olsen hit a three-run homer in the fourth to give the Eagles the 8-5 lead. Post put the game away in the top of the fifth as Hernandez and Melko each homered to give the Eagles the 11-5 lead at the time.
Hernandez finished the game 4-for-6 with two runs and three RBI. Olsen was 1-for-4 with three RBI.
