Eagles Baseball Takes Two Out Of Three Over The Weekend In North Carolina

Wilson, N.C. – The Post University baseball team split a doubleheader with The College of Saint Rose on Saturday evening and beat Assumption on Sunday in their road trip down in North Carolina over the weekend.

The Eagles dropped the first game to Saint Rose, 4-3 before winning 7-3 in game two. Against Assumption, the Eagles won, 6-1.

In the win over Saint Rose, the Eagles scored four runs in the second inning after falling behind 1-0 early. Alec Olsen had an RBI single in the inning while Thomas DiRusso had a two-run single.

The Eagles scored two runs in the sixth and one in the seventh, including another RBI single from Olsen.

Olsen finished the game going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Mike Lisinicchia scored two runs.

In the 6-1 win over Assumption on Sunday, junior Matt Goehrig hit two solo home runs and Noah Meeks earned the win.

During the game one loss to Saint Rose, the Eagles fell behind 4-0 early. The Eagles chipped away with a run in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings as Olsen and sophomore Christian Aliberti each had RBI singles.

On the mound, Scott Bellina and Tyler Boisvert combined for nine strikeouts.
