Waterbury, Conn. – The Post University men's lacrosse team dropped a 12-8 non-conference game to American International College on Tuesday at LaMoy Field.
Freshman Nick Meier followed up his debut two-goal performance with four more goals to lead the Eagles. Junior Mark Colella scored two goals, extending his goal scoring streak to seven straight games.
Post scored took an early 2-0 lead on unassisted goals by both Colella and Meier early on before the Yellow Jackets responded with five unanswered goals to take a 5-2 lead at the 13:57 mark of the second period. Rusty Stone scored two goals during the stretch for AIC.
Colella and Meier would score two of the next three goals in the game, making it a 6-4 AIC lead going into halftime. Quran Langston scored his second goal of the season in the third, as the Yellow Jackets led 8-5 heading tin the fourth. After falling behind 10-5, goals from junior Carlos Chacua and Meier got the Eagles back within three at 10-7, but two straight from AIC's Landon Reyes put the game away.
