Jaylene Souto and sophomore
Morgan Cassiliano each scored two goals to open up the season, but the Post University women's lacrosse team lost its season opener to Palm Beach Atlantic, 19-6 at the U.S. Lacrosse Facility.
After falling behind 4-0 in the first, Cassiliano got the scoring going for the Eagles to make it a 4-1 game at the 12:33 mark. After the Sailfish responded with a goal, Souto put in her first goal of the season to make it a 5-2 game at the 8:10 mark.
The Sailfish scored the next 12 goals to put the game away. The Eagles attempted a rally with goals from senior
Lauren Chambers and one more each by Souto, Cassiliano and one from freshman
Cara DiStefano.
The Eagles will take on Florida Tech on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the U.S. Lacrosse Facility.
