Orangeburg, N.Y. – The Post University men's basketball team fell to Dominican, 65-54 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game on Wednesday evening.
The loss puts the Eagles at 16-8 overall and 10-5 in the CACC. They are currently in second place in the North Division.
Post led 31-30 behind ten points off the bench from junior
Jonathan Duvivier, who made all four of his shots, including two from three-point land.
The Chargers led by as much as eight points in the half at 13-5 at the 13:06 mark. The Eagles got to within two points on six different occasions
until finally taking the lead at 20-18 at the 7:06 mark after a jumper from
D.J. Frechette. Post extended its lead to 27-22 on a jumper from Duvivier before the Chargers closed out the half on an 8-4 run.
Dominican scored the first ten points of the half, taking a 40-31 lead at the 16:27 mark. Dominican extended its lead at 49-37. Post closed the gap to 50-47 on a three from senior
D.J. Jarrett and a jumper from junior
Darrick Boyd at the 6:07 mark. The Chargers went back up by nine at 56-47 before another three from Jarrett cut the deficit to six. However, the Eagles would only get as close as five points the rest of the way.
Jarrett finished with a team-high 11 points. Duvivier finished with ten points. Senior
Marcus Johnson had a team-high 11 rebounds.
Jason Copman had ten points and 18 rebounds for Dominican (18-5, 11-3 CACC) Daraja Rodwell had 15 points to lead the Chargers.
The Eagles will play at Georgian Court at 3 p.m. on February 15 in their next game.
