Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

Storm Scores, But Women's Hockey Falls To LIU

East Meadow, N.Y. – Freshman Sadie Storm scored her 12th goal of the season, but the Post University women's hockey team fell, 7-1 to Long Island University in a New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) match on Saturday afternoon.
 
Post is now 11-19 overall and 1-15 in NEWHA play.
 
The Eagles fell behind 4-0 after the Sharks scored three in the first and one in the second period before Storm scored a power play goal on a 5-on-3, putting a slapshot past Sharks goalie, Mia McLeod on a pass from senior Kendall Fitzgerald.
 
The Sharks would add three more goals in the third period to put the game away. Carrigan Umpherville scored two goals and had an assist for the Sharks.
 
Sophomore Kaitlyn Daly had 34 saves for the Eagles.  Freshman Jenna Abeyta led the Eagles with seven shots on goal.
 
Up next, Post will play at Saint Michael's on February 7 at 7 p.m.
