Shelton, Conn. – The Post University men's hockey team dropped a 2-1 game to Saint Michael's in a Northeast10 match on Friday evening at The Rinks at Shelton.
Saint Michael's took a 1-0 lead early in the third after a scoreless first two periods before senior Matt Moreschi stole the puck from the Purple Knights and slipped a pass to a streaking Tyler Hackett who beat goalkeeper, Tim Decker on a backhand goal to tie the game, 1-1 at the 9:11 mark.
However, Saint Michael's would score a power player goal at the 11:56 mark from Sel Narby to take the 2-1 lead.
Post had an opportunity to tie moments later as four penalties from St. Michael's had the Eagles (2-13-1, 0-10-0 NE10) on a 5-on-3 power play, but they were unable to convert.
Junior Brandon Brown finished with 37 saves, including 19 in the second period.
The two teams will meet again on Saturday at The Rinks at Shelton at 4:15 p.m.
