The Post University women's volleyball team nearly forced a fourth set behind eight kills from senior Shannon Veale, but fell short in a 3-0 (14-25, 14-25, 23-25) loss to Le Moyne on Friday afternoon on the campus of Molloy College.

After dropping the first two sets to the Dolphins, Post attempted to make a run at extending the game to a fourth set. Post with the third set tied at 13-13, the Eagles rattled off three straight points on a kill from Jayda Roman, an ace from Elizabeth McGrath and an error by the Dolphins to take a 16-13 lead.

Le Moyne tied the set at 17-17, and eventually took a 21-19 lead over the Eagles, but a kill by senior Ann Marie Nelson and an ace from Mikayla McLeod tied the set at 21-21. However, the Dolphins were able to pull away at the end, with the Eagles twice getting to within one point during the final six points of the match.

Nelson finished with five kills for the Eagles. McGrath had 21 assists to lead the Eagles.

Earlier in the day Post dropped a 3-0 (14-25, 15-25, 14-25) match to Molloy.

Nelson, Michelle Stublarec and Roman each led the way for the Eagles with seven kills apiece. Kim Buttery had 19 assists. Stublarec also tied for the game high with three blocks.

Carly Banks had ten kills to lead Molloy. Sophia Smith had 41 assists.

Up next, the Eagles take on Mercy (10 a.m.) and Franklin Pierce (noon) on Saturday.
