Suzy Boulay finished with 31 assists and 13 digs and senior
Shannon Veale had 15 digs and 14 kills, but the Post University women's volleyball team lost a 3-1 (25-19, 20-25, 25-18, 25-20) match to Concordia on Thursday evening.
The first set saw the Eagles come back from a 10-4 deficit to cut the score to 10-9 before the Clippers pulled away. Senior
Michelle Stublarec had three kills in the set. Veale had two.
In set two, tied at 14-14, back to back kills by Veale started an 11-6 run. The Eagles closed on four kills for their final points, including three straight from freshman
Jayda Roman. Roman finished with nine kills on the evening.
Down 8-4 early in set three, Post scored four straight points including another kill by Roman to tie the game at 8-8. However, the Clippers went on a 9-1 run and to take a 17-9 lead and close out the set.
The fourth and final set was tightly contested throughout, with Post taking an 11-10 lead nearly midway through on an ace by Boulay. But a subsequent 11-4 run by Concordia ended the match.
Kim Buttery had 21 digs for the Eagles. Roman had 12 digs.
It'll be a quick turnaround for the Eagles as they will take on Felician on Friday at 6 p.m. at the Drubner Center.
