Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Three Players Score Hat Tricks, But Women's Lacrosse Falls To Nyack

Nyack, N.Y. - Three different players scored a hat trick for the Eagles as they held an early five goal lead, but the Post University women's lacrosse team dropped a tightly contested 12-10 game to Nyack in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game on Wednesday afternoon.

Junior Jaylene Souto (Middletown, R.I.), freshman Morgan Cassiliano (Staten Island, N.Y.) and senior Savannah Schwack (Manorville, N.Y.) each scored three goals for the Eagles (1-8).

Schwack scored three of the first four goals of the game as Post opened up an early 4-0 lead with 21:01 remaining in the first half. She scored at 26:04, 21:53 and 21:01. Cassiliano scored the other goal during the stretch at the 22:43 mark. Souto assisted on two of Schwack's goals.

After Nyack got on the board with a goal at 15:30,  senior Aolani Hermosura (Stamford, Conn.) put one past Nyack goalkeeper Kathleen Lino to give Post the 5-1 lead. Cassiliano then took Souto's third assist of the game at 11:40 to give Post its largest lead of the game at 6-1.

However, the Warriors answered with five straight of their own, including two each from Julianna Kranes and Jocelin Wright to tie the game at 6-6 at halftime.

The tie was short lived as the Eagles took the lead back early in the second half on Cassiliano's third goal of the game, giving Post the 7-6 lead.

But the Warriors scored four straight on goals from four different players to take a 10-7 lead with 13:42 remaining.

Souto then scored her first two goals of the game at the 13:04 and 10:01 mark, respectively to make it a one goal game before Nyack added two more - one from Kranes - to take the 12-9 lead with 5:42 left. Souto would tack on one more goal with 57 seconds remaining for the final tally.

Freshman Christina Badaracco (Long Island, N.Y.) had 15 saves in net for the Eagles.

Up next, the Eagles take on Holy Family in a CACC game at noon on April 6th at LaMoy Field.
