WATERBURY, Conn. - Post Baseball brought out the big bats once again today. In game one, the Eagles scored a historic 15 runs to jump out to a massive lead over Caldwell.
Travvious Ford got things started with a leadoff triple, starting a rally of ten straight Eagles who would reach base before recording an out.
The inning was highlighted by reigning CACC Player of the Week, Rosario Missiti, who belted a three-run homer and a two run double in the first frame. Missiti would compile a total of eight RBI in the game to go along with two home runs. Missiti tied a school record for single season home runs with nine.
Batting in two hole, Danny Di Marzo succeeded tremendously at setting the table for the Eagles' big bats. Di Marzo went 5 for 6, scoring three runs and collecting four RBI.
Mike Lisinicchia put his stamp on the game with a mammoth two-run home run to right field to end the 15-run first inning.
Post scored two more runs in the second inning when Di Marzo came across on a wild pitch, followed by a Matt Goehrig RBI double.
Tyler Melko went 3 for 4 out of the three spot with four runs and one RBI.

Catcher Jared Zima had a productive day at the plate as well, going 3 for 6 with three RBI and two runs scored.
Tyler Kovalewic gave the Eagles seven strong innings on the mound, striking out nine Cougars while allowing only two earned runs.
Post tallied 12 total extra base hits on the day to help score 26 runs.
Trenton Taylor took the mound for Post in the second game of the doubleheader.
Taylor got into a bit of trouble in the first after he loaded the bases and then walked in a run, but he would escape the jam by only allowing the single run.
Taylor had his strikeout stuff going, striking out ten Cougars in 4.2 innings of work. He struck out the side in the second and fourth innings.
The Eagles' bats were bit more tamed in the second game. They scratched across nine hits after their 24 hit performance in the first game
Post held a 4-1 lead going into the fifth inning, which is when Caldwell made their move. The Cougars plated eight runs in the inning, seven of which came with two outs.
Post looked to comeback in the sixth inning when Evan Schaffner led off with a solo home run to left field. Isasis Guzman ripped a double over the right fielders head to follow and scored on a Travvious Ford RBI single. Missiti then came up with two outs and two runners on and delivered a RBI double to cut the Cougars lead to 11-8.
However, Post went 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 7th and Caldwell took game two of the doubleheader by the final score of 11-8.
Rosario Missiti extended his hitting streak to 15 games by picking up hits in both games. He also extended his team leading RBI total to 37 after collecting and impressive ten RBI on the day.
