Women's Lacrosse Wins Second Straight Game Behind Cassiliano's Five Goals

Flushing, N.Y. - The Post University women's lacrosse team scored the first six goals of the game and held on late behind five goals from freshman Morgan Cassiliano (Staten Island, N.Y.) in a 14-12 win over Queens in a non-conference matchup.

It was the second straight win for the Eagles  who are 4-11 on the season.

Senior Aolani Hermosura (Stamford, Conn.) started the scoring just 38 seconds into the game, followed by a goal from senior Savannah Schwack (Manorville, N.Y.) at 27:26. Freshman Molly Dobratz (Southington, Conn.) added her fifth goal of the season before Cassiliano scored her first two and another from Schwack put the Eagles up 6-0.

Queens put their first goal on the board at 15:43, but the Eagles answered back with the third of four goals from Schwack. After the Knights made it a 7-2 game, the Eagles scored three straight, including two from junior Jaylene Souto (Middletownm R.I.) to take a 10-2 lead. The Eagles would lead 10-4 at the half.

In the second half, the two teams split the first eight goals of the half as Cassiliano scored two, and Schwack and Hermosura each had a goal to put Post up 14-6 at the 15:44 mark.

The Knights rallied and scored the final six goals to make it interesting, but the Eagles held on late.

Cassiliano now has 52 goals on the season and is fourth in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference in goals.

Freshman Christina Badaracco (Long Island, N.Y.) had 16 saves in net for the Eagles.

The Eagles take on Wilmington at home for their final regular season game of the season at noon on April 27.
