Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Cassiliano Sets School Record, But Women's Lacrosse Falls To Wilmington In Season Finale

Waterbury, Conn. - Freshman Morgan Cassiliano (Staten Island, N.Y.) set a single season school record for goals in a season, and senior Savannah Schwack (Manorville, N.Y.) had a hat trick in her final game in an Eagles uniform, but the Post University women's lacrosse team dropped a 23-10 match to Wilmington in their final game of the season.

The Eagles finish up the regular season at 4-12 and 2-7 in the CACC.

Sophomore Julia Thomas (Wading River, N.Y.) also had a hat trick for the Eagles, for her season-high in scoring.

The Wildcats scored the first five goals of the game before Schwack got the Eagles on the board at 23:28,  cutting the deficit to 5-1. Thomas scored her first goal at 19:23 after a goal from Wilmington's Lashay Ross to make it a 6-2 game.

Maddie Day of Wilmington would score at 18:27 before Thomas and senior Aolani Hermosura (Stamford, Conn.) scored back-to-back goals to cut the Wilmington lead to 7-4 at 15:47.

Post would get to as close as a two goal deficit in the first half as Thomas scored her third and final goal at 13:49 followed closely by Schwack's second goal at 13:00 to make it an 8-6 game. The goal from Schwack was her 100th point of her illustrious career at Post.

Wilmington scored three straight goals to make it an 11-6 game before Cassiliano's record breaking goal at 8:21. It was her 53rd goal of the season. She added one more goal in the second half.

The Wildcats would go into the half up 15-8 scoring four of the last five goals of the half. Schwack added her third and final goal in the half.

In the second half, Wilmington scored four straight goals before junior Jaylene Souto (Middletown, R.I.) added her first goal of the game, making it a 19-9 game. It'd be as close as the Eagles would get the rest of the way.

Ross finished with six goals and an assist for Wilmington.

Freshman Christina Badaracco (Long Island, N.Y.) had 11 saves in the loss for the Eagles.

Before the game Schwack and fellow senior Alana Lopez (Wolcott, Conn.) were honored as part of Senior Day.
