Waterbury, Conn. - Freshman 
Shawn Baker (East Fishkill, N.Y.) pitched six strong innings in a 2-1 game two win to help the Post University baseball team split a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader with Bloomfield on Thursday afternoon at Municipal Stadium. Bloomfield took game one, 3-0.
In his six innings, Baker gave just one earned run on three hits and a walk while striking out four to earn his second win of the season. He is now 2-1.
All the Eagles offense came in the bottom of the fourth as Post put together a two-out rally to score its only runs of the game. Sophomore 
Danny Di Marzo (Fishkill, N.Y.) started the rally with a walk and a steal followed by a fielder's choice by senior 
John Cartagena Jr. (Danbury, Conn.) After a stolen base by Cartagena Jr., junior 
Jared Zima (Berlin, Conn.) ripped a double to drive both runners in to put the Eagles up 2-0.
Bloomfield answered with one run in the fifth, but Baker struckout the side after the first batter tripled and scored on a balk.
Senior 
Brett Pisaneschi (East Quogue, N.Y.) earned his third save of the season.
Yordani Nicasio pitched five innings for Bloomfield and struck out four while giving up two runs on four hits and two walks.
In game one, the Eagles pitching staff combined for 12 strikeouts in the tough 3-0 loss.
Starting pitcher, junior 
Trenton Taylor (Taft, Calif.) struck out six in his six innings of work as did 
Chas Cywin in his three innings of relief.
Bloomfield scored two runs in the top of the second on a two-run triple from Denzel Faniel and tacked on one more in the top of the third on an error.
Junior
 Travious Ford (Greenville, N.C.) went 2-for-5 and Di Marzo went 2-for-4 at the plate for the Eagles.
Up next, the Eagles (20-20, 17-12 CACC) take on Jefferson on the road in their final CACC doubleheader of the season beginning at noon on April 27.
