Waterbury, Conn. - Senior
Sean Olsen (Old Bridge, N.J.) showed out on Senior Day scoring five goals and dishing out eight assists and giving the Post University men's lacrosse team its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference win of the season in a 20-5 drubbing of Felician on Wednesday afternoon at LaMoy Field.
The win puts the Eagles at 2-11 overall and 1-3 in the CACC.
Junior
Corey Auten (Stratford, Conn.) got the scoring going for the Eagles in the first period at the 13:37 mark to put the Eagles up 1-0 early, a lead that didn't last long as Felician's Ausar Wright tied the game up at 12:04. However, Olsen scored back-to-back goals at 10:59 and 9:13 on assists from Auten to give the Eagles a 3-1 lead, one which they would not relinquish.
Felician would cut the deficit to 3-2 at 8:32 in the first, but the Eagles rattled off 14 straight goals, including the final five goals in the first and all seven goals in the second.
Sophomore
Mark Colella (Goshen, N.Y.) got the scoring run going with two straight goals in the first. Sophomore
Carlos Chacua (Norwalk, Conn.) scored three goals during the run as did Olsen. Auten scored twice and Colella added one more during the deciding run.
After Felician stopped the run, Colella, junior
Jake Bova (Trumbull, Conn.) and Auten added a goal as the Eagles had the highest scoring output of the season.
Colella finished with four goals and an assist. Auten had four goals and two assists and Chacua had three goals and two assists. Bova finished with a hat trick.
In net, junior
Manuele D'Alessio (Mount Laurel, N.J.) had 11 saves and earned the win.
Post outshot Felician, 66-28 and caused 27 turnovers. Post took advantage of their extra man opportunities, converting four of their five opportunities.
