Philadelphia, Pa. - The Post University men's lacrosse team dropped its final game of the season, a 23-5 loss to Chestnut Hill in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game.
Sean Olsen led the way for the Eagles with two goals.
The Griffins took an early 1-0 lead at the 13:15 mark in the first on a goal from John Bennet. Sophomore
Justin Nogueira (Southington, Conn.) answered a minute later to tie the game, 1-1.
Chestnut Hill would score the final three goals of the first to take a 4-1 lead after the first period. Junior
Jake Bova (Trumbull, Conn.) opened up the scoring for the Eagles with a goal at the 14:04 mark in the second period to make it a 4-2 game, but it would be as close as Post would get the rest of the way.
The Griffins rattled off 16 straight goals to take a 20-2 lead before Olsen scored his first goal of the game with 8:20 remaining in the fourth. After three more goals by Chestnut Hill, the Eagles closed out the game with goals from sophomore
Mark Colella (Goshen, N.Y.) and Olsen with four seconds remaining.
Carson Rees finished with seven goals for Chestnut Hill, who are the regular season CACC champions.
Post finished their season 2-12 overall and 1-4 in the CACC. Ben Revak had four goals.
Olsen finished the season as the team's leading goal scorer with 20 and in points with 36. Sophomore
Carlos Chacua (Norwalk, Conn.),
Jake Bova and junior
Corey Auten (Stratford, Conn.) each had a three-way tie for second on the team in goals with 17. Colella finished with 16.
