Waterbury, Conn. - Freshman
Kasey Jusino (Bordentown, N.J.) hit a walkoff homer in game one as part of a big doubleheader performance as the Post University softball team swept Concordia, 4-3 and 5-2 in an exciting Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference battle.
With one out in the bottom of the seventh in a 3-3 game, Jusino took a pitch from Concordia's MacKenna Powell to walk the Eagles off in victory in game one.
It was Jusino's second homer of the game, as she hit a two run homer in the bottom of the third to put the Eagles up 3-2 at the time. Concordia followed with a run in the top of the fourth to tie the game before Jusino's heroics in the seventh.
Post took an early 1-0 lead as freshman
Bailee Zaccaro (Levittown, Pa.) hit an RBI single to score Jusino, who reached on a fielder's choice.
Jusino finished the game going 2-for-4 with three runs and three RBI.
Sophomore
Bridget Betley (Fairfield, N.J.) earned the win for the Eagles pitching a complete game and striking out one.
In game two, a big fifth inning helped propel the Eagles to the sweep, with Jusino playing a big part in the come from behind win.
With the Eagles down 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Jusino hit an RBI single to score junior
Leyri Rivera (Dover, N.J.) to tie the game. A passed ball and an error on the same play allowed Jusino and sophomore
Cassidy Petrie (Staten Island, N.Y.) to score, giving the Eagles a 4-2 lead. An RBI groundout by freshman
Allyson Wallauer (Landenberg, Pa.) gave the Eagles their final run in the bottom of the sixth.
Sophomore
Demi Rivera (Hazlet, N.J.) got the win for the Eagles. She pitched 4.1 innings and struck out one. She is 1-2 on the season. Freshman
Christina Loeffler (East Meadow, N.Y.) got her second save of the season in 2.2 innings.
The Eagles (17-18, 9-11 CACC) host Felician on Wednesday in a CACC doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m.
