Mark Colella (Goshen, N.Y.) had three goals as the Post University men's lacrosse team fell to Wilmington, 9-7 on Saturday afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game.
The loss puts the Eagles at 1-10 on the season and 0-2 in the CACC.
Colella got the Eagles on the board first at 11:32, his eighth goal of the season, to put the Eagles ahead at 1-0. After a goal from Wilmington's Chris Smith at 7:04, junior
Wilson Gurney (Victoria, British Columbia) scored his first goal of the season at 6:25 to give Post the 2-1 lead.
Wilmington answered with three straight goals, including one by Dylan McCleaft, who scored the first of his four goals on the day. Wilmington led 4-2 after the first quarter.
The Eagles cut their deficit to one as junior
Corey Auten (Stratford, Conn.) got on the board, scoring his 12th goal of the season at the 13:32 mark to make it a 4-3 game. However, McCleaft would score two straight before Colella scored his second of the game at 2:50 in the half. Wilmington lead 6-4 at halftime.

Jake Bova (Trumbull, Conn.) opened the scoring in the third with his 12th goal of the season, making it a 6-5 game with 13:40 remaining in the third. Wilmington's Chris Smith then answered with a goal in the third - the lone one for the Wildcats - and one in the fourth as the Wildcats went up 8-5.
Bova scored his second goal of the game at 10:16 in the fourth followed by Colella's third to make it an 8-7 game with 9:02 left, by McCleaft scored an insurance goal with 37 seconds left for Wilmington to put the game away.
The Eagles take on Georgian Court on the road on April 16 at 3:30 p.m.
