Philadelphia, Pa. - The Post University softball team jumped out to a 5-0 lead and junior
Brianna Koref (Springfield, N.J.) hit a pinch hit home run in an 11-2 game two win over Chestnut Hill in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader split. Chestnut Hill won game one, 4-3.
Freshman
Jazmin Andrews (Queens, N.Y.) finished game two 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI as she hit a big two-run single in the top of the second to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead after the Eagle scored one in the first on an RBI single by sophomore
Demi Rivera (Hazlet, N.J.).
Post scored two runs in the top of the third before Chestnut Hill's Lily Winn hit a two-run homer to make it a 5-2 game.
Post answered in the next half inning as freshman
Allyson Wallauer (Landenberg, Pa.) hit an RBI single to score Andrews.
The Eagles were able to mercy Chestnut Hill after a five run explosion in the fifth as freshman
Bailee Zaccaro (Levittown, Pa.) hit an RBI single to score Andrews, followed by an RBI sacrifice fly by Wallauer. It set the stage for Koref who hit her first homer of the season, a three-run shot that also scored sophomore
Megan McCormack (Franklin Square, N.Y.) and Zaccaro.
Wallauer finished the game 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run.
Starter, sophomore
Bridget Betley (Fairfield, N.J.) struck out four in 3.1 innings.
In game one, the Eagles held an early 2-0 lead before the Griffins scored on a walkoff error to defeat the Eagles, 4-3.
Freshman
Kasey Jusino (Bordentown, N.J.) hit an RBI double in the first and was followed three batters later by junior
Brianna Rotunno (Staten Island, N.Y.) to put the Eagles up 2-0 after one.Â
The Griffins scored one in the third and fourth before
Demi Rivera hit an RBI double to score Jusino. The Griffins tied it again in the bottom of the sixth on an homer from Brielle Riotte.
Chestnut Hill won the game in the bottom of the seventh on a passed ball followed by a throwing error to score Winn.
Up next, the Eagles (15-16, 7-9 CACC) take on Caldwell in a CACC home doubleheader at noon on April 18.
