Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. - Five different Eagles scored goals, but a rough first period led to a 12-5 loss to No. 5 Mercy on Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference match.
The Eagles fall to 1-3 on the season while Mercy moves to 6-0.
Mercy took a 2-0 lead early on as Dominic Scorcia and Ryan MacSpayden each scored their ninth goal of the season before the Eagles got on the board at 9:23 as junior
Jake Bova (Trumbull, Conn.) scored his sixth goal of the season on an assist from sophomore

The one goal deficit didn't last long as Mercy scored just over a minute later at 8:14 on a goal from JoJo Janavey to give Mercy a 3-1 lead. The Mavericks scored two more goals before junior
Corey Auten (Stratford, Conn.) scored his third goal of the season on a pass from Bova to make it a 5-2 game with 3:51 remaining. However, Scorcia would score twice in the final minute, the last with four seconds left to give Mercy the 7-2 lead after one.
Scorcia scored the lone goal for Mercy in the second period, but the Eagles answered back with a goal from Chacua, his seventh, to cut the Eagles deficit to 8-3 with 2:33 remaining in the half.Â
Post opened the scoring in the third to make it an 8-4 game as senior
Sean Olsen (Old Bridge, N.J.) scored on another assist from Chacua at the 12:18 mark of the third. It was Olsen's fifth goal of the season. But the Mavericks scored the next three goals, including two more by Janavey and one more by Scorcia at the 12:57 mark in the fourth period to put the game out of reach.
Sophomore
Justin Nogueira (Southington, Conn.) would add his second goal of the season in the fourth.
Junior
Manuele D'Alessio (Mount Laurel, N.J.) had nine saves on the day for the Eagles.
Post forced 27 turnovers on Mercy. The Eagles just had 24 of their own.
