Eagles Win Big Match Against UT Tyler

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Lakeland, Fla. - The Post University men's tennis team split its two matches on Wednesday, defeating University of Texas at Tyler, 5-2 and losing earlier in the day to Weber International, 5-2.

In its match against UT of Tyler, the men won No. 1 doubles, 6-4 as sophomore Nino Krneta (Zadar, Croatia) and senior Jonathan Compres (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) won, 6-4 and No. 3 doubles won, 6-2 with senior Ivan Rajevac (Dubrovnik, Croatia) and junior Samuel Urban (Kosice, Slovakia) defeating Juan Martinez and Connor Cooper.

Compres won his No. 2 singles match after falling behind a set, 4-6, 7-5, 10-7. Freshman Konstantin Belov (Ivanovo, Russia) made quick work in his No. 3 singles match, winning, 6-2, 6-0. Urban won in three sets, 6-4, 2-6, 10-6 in his No. 4 singles match and freshman Alexandre Romieu (Lyon, France) also won in three sets, 7-5, 3-6, 10-6.

In their second match of the day against Weber, Urban won his No. 4 singles match, 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-7) and Romieu made quick work of Jordi Serrano in the No. 5 singles match, 6-0, 6-1. The Eagles almost took singles No. 2 and No. 3, but lost in three sets.

The Eagles are now 5-2 and take on Saint Leo on March 16.
