Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men’s Basketball Loses Back And Forth Game To SNHU

Waterbury, Conn. – Sophomore Devonte McCall had a double-double and junior Darrick Boyd had 17 points, but the Post University men's basketball team lost a seesaw game to Southern New Hampshire on Sunday, 86-74.

The Eagles led 36-34 at the half as the lead was changed seven times and no one had a lead bigger than five along the way. McCall went 5-for-10 shooting and grabbed four offensive rebounds which led to four second chance points. Boyd scored the last five points of the half for the Eagles, including the last two on free-throws to give the Eagles the two-point lead. Boyd, sophomore Abdul-Basit Ajia and junior Omar Telfer Jr. each hit a three in the half.

Post extended its lead to nine points at 55-46, thanks to back-to-back threes from Boyd and junior Jonathan Duvivier and would lead by that much three more times in the half before the Penmen made their run as they went on a 16-6 run to take a 68-67 lead at the 6:07 mark after a three from Jacari Sanders followed by a three from Eamonn Joyce.

After the Penmen made it a 75-69 lead, the Eagles responded with a jumper from senior Savion Boissard and a three from sophomore D.J. Frechette to make it a 75-74 game. It would be as close as they'd get the rest of the way as SNHU finished on an 11-0 run over the final 3:40.

McCall finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds for his third double-double of the season. Boissard finished with 12 points.

Shawn Montague finished with 27 points and 13 rebounds for the Penmen. Joyce had 17 points.

The Eagles (4-2) will host Saint Anselm on December 4 at 7 p.m.
