Caldwell, N.J. – Junior Elizabeth McGrath had 41 assists, but the Post University women's volleyball team lost, 3-1 (25-12, 17-25, 25-20, 25-16) to Caldwell in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match on Thursday evening.
After losing set one, the Eagles responded by jumping out to a 12-6 lead to begin the second set, including scoring five of six points during a stretch. Senior Michelle Stublarec, and freshmen Jayda Roman and Aniya Goodman each had kills during the run. Caldwell cut the deficit to two to 18-16, but the Eagles closed out with a 7-1 run, capped by an ace from Roman to tie the match, 1-1.
In set three, the Eagles jumped out to an early 5-1 lead on two kills each from seniors Shannon Veale and Ann Marie Nelson. Caldwell responded with a 21-9 run to take a 22-14 lead. Post fought back and cut the Cougars lead to 23-20 on a 6-1 run as Goodman had three kills during the run, but Caldwell would grab the final two points to take the set.
Veale led the Eagles with 12 kills. Roman had ten. Stublarec had eight kills and five blocks. Roman had ten kills and 11 digs.
