Bridgeport, Conn. - Senior
D.J. Jarrett scored 17 points to lead the Post University men's basketball team to a 69-64 win over Southern Connecticut State University on the campus of the University of Bridgeport on Friday evening.
Sophomore
Devonte McCall finished with 14 points and eight rebounds and senior
Savion Boissard had 12 points and six rebounds.
SCSUÂ opened up the game with a 6-0 lead, but the Eagles fought back, capped by a three-pointer from
Jonathan Duvivier to make it a 12-12 game with 13:54 left in the first half.Â
The Owls again extended to a 22-16 lead, but Post finished with an 18-10 run to take the two point lead at halftime. Junior
Darrick Boyd and Boissard both hit three-pointers to help the final run.
In the second half, the Owls took a 58-48 lead, but the Eagles made a miraculous comeback, as Jarrett and sophomore
D.J. Frechette combined for the next 13 points to cut the Eagles deficit to 62-61. Boissard and McCall scored the next six points to give the Eagles the lead for good at 67-62 before Boyd sealed the game with two free-throws.
Post will take on Bridgeport at 1:30 p.m. on November 10.
