Wilkes-Barre, Pa. – A big second period from the Post University women's hockey team gave it a 3-0 win over Wilkes on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference game.
The Eagles scored all three of their goals in the period from three different players.
After a scoreless first, junior Paige Dundas got the Eagles off to a fast start in the second, stuffing in a rebound off a shot from Jenna Abeyta on the power play to give the Eagles the 1-0 lead just 41 seconds into the period.
Not long after, Abeyta got into the scoring action herself taking a lead pass from Brumfield, and deking goalkeeper Alexa Rango for her seventh goal of the season at the 2:26 mark.
Abeyta would put her final stamp on the game at the 17:09 mark, feeding classmate Catherine Proulx for her sixth goal of the season.
Senior Jenna Baumgartner had 22 saves on the day, as the Eagles (4-11) snapped a four game losing streak.
The two teams meet again Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
