Wilkes-Barre, Pa. – Freshman Madison Turley scored a pair of goals – her first two of the season - as the Post University women's hockey team took down Wilkes, 3-0 for the second consecutive day.
Freshman Jenna Abeyta, who scored a goal and had an assist in Saturday's game, scored the first goal of the game for the Eagles at the 5:12 mark of the first wrapping the puck around the net and firing a wrist shot past goalie Ally Joly to give Post the 1-0 lead. It was her eighth goal of the season, which leads the team.
Just 21 seconds later, Turley put her first goal through as she deflected a shot from classmate Mia Landry to make it a 2-0 game at the 5:33 mark.
Turley's second goal was similar to her first, except it was Abeyta who took the slapshot that deflected off Turley's stick to make it a 3-0 game on the power play.
Sophomore Kaitlyn Daly finished with 32 saves on the day for her first shutout of the season
The Eagles have now won two straight and sit at 5-11 on the season. They will take on Neumann University at 1 p.m. at The Rinks at Shelton on November 26.
