Hershey, Pa. – The Post University women's hockey team scored three goals in the third, including a game-winner from Paige Dundas to give the Eagles a 5-4 win over Lebanon Valley in a non-conference match.
Post led 2-0 after the first. Freshman Sadie Storm got the scoring going early as she scored 1:33 into the period off a pass from senior Molly Brumfield to put Post up, 1-0.
Freshman Jenna Abeyta followed at the 5:46 mark with her fourth goal of the season putting Post up 2-0.
However, the Dutchmen responded with four straight goals, including three in the second period. They tacked on one in the third at the 2:26 mark to make it a 4-2 game. Mychaela Pitta scored two of the goals for Lebanon Valley.
But the Eagles responded quickly and swiftly as freshman Maria Orfanidis scored her first career goal at the 13:07 mark off a pass from junior Kathleen Takita to make it a 4-3 game. In a blink of an eye, freshman Catherine Proulx tied the game just 20 seconds later with her third goal of the year, taking passes from seniors Julia Schatz and Kendall Fitzgerald to tie the game at 4-4.
Less than two minutes later, Dundas scored at the 15:25 mark – her second of the season – from freshmen Emily Racco and Victoria Paton to give the Eagles the lead for good.
The Eagles sit at 2-7 on the season and the two teams will meet up again on Saturday at 2 p.m.
