East Meadow, N.Y. – The Post University women's hockey team dropped a pair of games over the weekend to Long Island University, 5-1 and 10-0 on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

On Friday, senior Kendall Fitzgerald scored her third goal of the season in the third period as she stole a pass off of a faceoff and raced down all alone and put a wrist shot past goalkeeper Kenzie Harmison at the 7:18 mark in the third period. It cut LIU's lead to 5-1.

The Sharks had two goals from Abby Latorella, who also had an assist. They scored two goals in the first, one in the second and two in the third.

Sophomore Kaitlyn Daly had 46 saves for the Eagles.

On Saturday, senior Jenna Baumgartner and Daly combined for 34 saves in the loss.

Freshmen Jenna Abeyta and Victoria Paton each had three shots to lead the Eagles.

The Sharks had four goals in both the first and second periods and two in the third. Alva Johnsson had a hat trick for LIU.

Post will play at Wilkes University on November 23 and 24. Both games will be at 3:30 p.m.
