Shelton, Conn. – Freshman Jenna Abeyta scored her first career goal in a women's hockey 5-1 loss to Saint Anselm at The Rinks At Shelton on Saturday afternoon in a New England Women's Hockey Alliance game.
Abeyta's goal came on a slap shot off a pass from Mia Landry at the 8:21 mark of the second period, cutting the Hawks lead to 3-1.
Sophomore Kaitlyn Daly was stellar in net, stopping 43 shots in her season debut. Junior Paige Dundas led the Eagles with four shots on goal.
The Hawks opened with three goals in the first and scored one in the second and one in the third. Katy Meehan and Kelly Golini both had a goal and an assist for the Hawks.
The Eagles go on the road to take on Franklin Pierce on Oct. 11th (7 p.m.) and 12th (6 p.m.) in a NEWHA match.
