Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Oops, They Did It Again! Women’s Soccer Wins Third Straight, Topping Wilmington In CACC Battle

Newark, Del. – Freshman Lydia Asamoah scored two goals and Amber McGee scored another clutch goal in the second half, leading the Post University women's soccer team to a 3-2 win over Wilmington in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) tilt.

It was the third straight win for the Eagles and the second straight win over Wilmington. Post beat the Wildcats by the same score last season.

Asamoah got the Eagles going early in the seventh minute off a rebound from the goalkeeper to put Post up, 1-0.

Wilmington answered almost immediately with a goal in the ninth from Crystal Kline. They'd take the lead in the 29th on a goal from Samantha Emmi. Wilmington led 2-1 at the half.

Asamoah headed in her fifth goal of the season on a cross from junior Sabrina Adamo to tie the game, setting the stage again for Amber McGee.

McGee, who scored a late game winner against Nyack earlier in the season headed a ball off of a corner from Hailey McGee, which deflected off a defender and into the net to give the Eagles the lead for good.

Tayleur Little starred in goal, stopping eight shots.

The Eagles now sit at 3-3-2 overall and 3-1 in the CACC.

Post will take on Concordia at 3 p.m. on October 9 at LaMoy Field.
