Shelton, Conn. – Senior Kendall Fitzgerald scored her first goal of the season and classmate Jenna Baumgartner had 45 saves, but the Post University women's hockey team dropped a 6-1 game to Saint Anselm in a New England Women's Hockey Alliance game on Friday afternoon.

Fitzgerald's goal came in the third period at the 17:19 mark in the third, taking a pass from freshman Catherine Proulx and making it a 5-1 Hawks lead.

The Hawks scored one goal in the first, but Baumgartner made it tough on them, stopping 17 shots in the period. She'd stop 19 more shots in the second despite the Hawks scoring three goals, and nine more in the third.

Fitzgerald led the Eagles with six shots on goal. Madison Hurley led all Eagles with ten faceoff wins.

Katy Meehan had a goal and three assists for Saint Anselm. Kelly Golini had two assists.

The two teams will meet again at The Rinks at Shelton on Saturday at 4 p.m.
