Waterbury, Conn. – The Post University men's soccer team lost a heartbreaking 2-1 double overtime game to Holy Family in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game on Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles now sit at 8-3-3 overall and 5-2-2 in the CACC.
Post took an early 1-0 lead in the second minute as Andrea Baleotto scored his first goal of the game off a pass from junior Sergio Diaz, the leader in assists in the CACC.
The Tigers tied the game in the 21st minute as Davis Habilaj took a pass from Dakota Taylor on a breakaway to tie the game at 1-1.
The two teams would go scoreless in the second half until Holy Family's Sean McCormick took a shot from the top of the box that deflected off of a defender into the net to give Holy Family the 2-1 win.
The Eagles will play their next game at Caldwell on October 30 at 2:30 p.m.
