Waterbury, Conn. – Coming off a hat trick on Wednesday, freshman Hailey McGee scored again in a 2-0 win over Chestnut Hill in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's soccer match on Saturday afternoon at LaMoy Field.
The Eagles have now won five straight and are 5-3-2 on the season and 5-1 in the CACC. They are second in the conference.
McGee scored on a rebound off a shot on the crossbar from freshman Kayla Agostinelli in the 13th minute to give Post the 1-0 lead. It was McGee's fourth goal of the season.
In the 66th minute, junior Sydney Rutherford got in on the scoring action ripping a low line drive from about 25 yards out that weaved through a number of players for her first goal of the season, making it 2-0.
The Eagles defense was tough, allowing just one shot on goal, which was stopped by goalkeeper Tayleur Little.
Up next, the Eagles host Southern Connecticut State University at 3 p.m. on October 16.
