Shelton, Conn. - The Post University men's hockey team dropped an 8-3 game to Stonehill on Saturday evening at the Sportscenter of Connecticut.
After falling behind 2-0 late in the first period, the Eagles rallied with two late goals in the period themselves. The first, a goal from sophomore
Ryan Mcnelis (Havertown, Pa.), who took a pass from classmate
Jake Raleigh (Raleigh, N.C.) and freshman
John Krapian (Lowell, Mass.) to cut Stonehill's lead to 2-1 at 17:40. Post tied it up with just six seconds remaining in the period as Raleigh scored on assists from Krapian and sophomore
Sean Castagna (Wilmington, Del.).
Stonehill scored two goals just 28 seconds apart as Cameron Wright and Jack Scannell scored at 5:07 and 5:35 respectively to give the Skyhawks the 4-2 lead.
Again, the Eagles attempted a rally as sophomore
Anthony Giacomin (Drexel Hill, Pa.) cut the Post deficit to 4-3 on a goal from an assist by classmate
Evan Lugo (Sandy Hook, Conn.).
However, the Skyhawks would score three more goals in the second and one more in the third to put the game away,.
With the loss, the Eagles fall to 5-13-0 on the season.
