Men’s Basketball Take Care Of USciences, 91-77, For Third Straight Home Win

WATERBURY, Conn. - The Eagles used six double-figure scores, led by Marcus Johnson (18) to earn a much needed CACC victory. 

In their last two home games, Post has connected on 31 of 65 (48%) of their 3PT shots, including 13-29 against the Devils. They wasted no time today either. The first nine points scored by the Eagles were from deep, and the theme continued throughout the first half as the totaled 10 3PT makes in the first 20 minutes. 

Levy Gillespie and Marcus Johnson have been two of the hottest shooters for the Eagles as of late and they both got hot early. Gillespie (11) and Johnson (14) each hit double-figures in first half scoring. 

Isaiah Holmes and Tyshon Rogers each scored six first half points while sharpshooting D.J. Jarrett scored five. Rogers mixed in four assists and a steal in the first half. 

A high scoring first half was capped by Isaiah Holmes and Sean Simon trading 3PT shots in the final seconds to bring the halftime score to 52-48 in favor of Post University. 

After allowing the Devils to shot a gaudy 62% in the first half, the Eagles came out in the second half and tightened their defense up, only allowing the Devils to shot 32% from the field. 

D.J. Jarrett lead all scores for Post in the second half with 11, including six points in the first 50 seconds of the half, helping extend the Eagles lead to eight points

Marcus Johnson finished the game with a symmetrical 18 points and 18 rebounds to go along with one steal. 

D.J. Jarrett's hot second half landed him with 16 points on the game to go along with two steals. 

Levy Gillespie ended with 13 points, four rebounds and two steals. 

Darryl Stewart and Isaiah Holmes each filled up the stat sheet. For Stewart, he finished with ten points, two rebounds, three assists and four steals. Holmes tallied 11 points, four rebounds, three assists, three blocks and three steals. 

Tyshon Rogers, the team's leading scorer, ended with ten points on 3-16 shooting while contributing with five assists. 

The Eagles will remain home for a Tuesday night (7:30 p.m.) matchup with Felician University (6-8, 4-3) at the Drubner Center
