Tyler Hackett (Branford, Conn.) scored his fifth goal of the season - tied for most on the team - but the Post University men's hockey team dropped a 2-1 game to Franklin Pierce on Saturday evening.
Hackett's goal came in the third period at the 1:37 mark after sophomore
Sean Castagna (Wilmington, Del.) poked the puck away from a Ravens defender. The puck went to junior
Lucas Smith (Calgary, Alberta) who passed to Hackett, who found the top right corner past goalkeeper, Kyle Martin to cut the Ravens deficit to 2-1.
The Ravens scored at the 15:00 mark in the first period as Alex Lester took passes from Nate Indelicato and James Morrisey to give the Ravens a 1-0 lead. Morrisey scored a goal of his own at the 11:31 mark in the second period to make it a 2-0 game.
In net, sophomore
Brandon Brown (Hanahan, S.C.) had a solid performance, stopping 42 shots on the night.
The two teams meet again at Franklin Pierce on Saturday. The puck drops at 7 p.m.
