Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Lose In Overtime to #7 Merrimack

North Andover, MA -  The Eagles traveled to Merrimack College on Saturday to square off againt the 7th ranked team in Division II men's soccer. Sergio Diaz (Madrid, Spain) struck first to put the Eagles up 1-0 early in the second half. This was Diaz' second goal of the 2018 season, which leads the team. "We were able to pass effectively, it was a nice combination of passing and movement and he curled the ball into the bottom right corner of the net" head coach Ted Haley said. Haley added "It was a fantastic goal from a fantastic player"

Merrimack answered shortly after when Drew Lovely tied the game at 1-1.

The score would remain 1-1 into the first overtime when Filippo Begliardi Ghidini of Merrimack abruptly ended the match with a 1st minute OT goal.

"I told the guys I'm really really proud of them because we were better than the #7 team at their own place in my eyes" Haley said. He went on to talk about how this performance will translate into the conference schedule, "I hope the boys are driven to have the passion, drive and quality we had today in all of our conference matches because if we do we'll be a great team".

The conference schedule will kickoff this Tuesday when Caldwell travels to LaMoy Field to take on the Eagles at 3:00 p.m.
