Eagles Snap Two-Game Winning Streak In Loss To Chestnut Hill

Waterbury, Conn. - The Post University women's volleyball team's late rally fell short as it dropped a 3-1 (25-17, 25-13, 17-25, 25-21) match to Chestnut Hill on Saturday afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match.

The loss snapped Post's two-game winning streak. The Eagles are now 8-11 overall and 5-3 in the CACC.

After losing the first two sets, the Eagles went on a 16-6 run after the teams split the first eight points of the third set, giving them a commanding 20-10 lead and cruising on to the set win. Senior Madison Hunziker (Sacramento, Calif) had four of her 14 kills in the match in the set. Classmate Sarah Seger (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) also added three kills.

The first set saw the two teams tied at 9-9, but the Griffins went on a 6-1 run and were able to hold off the Eagles.  Freshman Rylie Arms (Gilbert, Ariz.) had three kills during the Eagles first nine points of the set. She had six kills overall in the set and nine in the match.

Senior Brianna Root (Bristol, Conn.) finished the match with 37 assists. Seger had nine kills. Sophomore Ashley Levatino (Holtsville, N.Y.) had four blocks to lead the Eagles.
