Bloomfield, N.J. – A late first half goal and two assists by sophomore Sergio Diaz (Madrid, Spain) propelled the Post University men's soccer team to a 2-0 win over Bloomfield in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matchup on Wednesday evening.
After a scoreless first 42 minutes of the match, junior Nicholas Osebio (Bethel, Conn.) put the ball past Bloomfield goalkeeper Robert Kornel off of a set piece from Diaz to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
The second half, looked similar to the first half with both teams going scoreless for the first 40 minutes of the half before sophomore Alvaro Sanchez (Madrid, Spain) took a pass from Diaz, and beat Kornel one-on-one for the insurance goal in the 85th minute.
The Eagles were able to blank the Bears in large part due to freshman Fredrik Pedersen, who had four saves, all in the second half, including a key save in the 84th minute off the foot of Regsan Watkins.
With the win, the Eagles move to 3-4 on the season and 2-1 in the CACC. Bloomfield falls to 0-5 overall and 0-3 in the CACC.
