Waterbury, Conn. – The Post University women's volleyball team kicked off its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference season with a resounding 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-15) win over Concordia on Tuesday afternoon at the Drubner Center.

The Eagles fell behind 2-0 early on in the first set before scoring the next five points and never trailing again. Senior Madison Hunziker (Sacramento, Calif.) led the charge, with four of her eight kills coming in the first set. Junior Shannon Veale (Toms River, N.J.) had two kills and sophomore Ashley Levatino (Holtsville, N.Y.) and junior Ann Marie Nelson (Draper, Utah) each chipped in with one in the set. Senior Brianna Root (Bristol, Conn.) contributed assists on seven of the eight kills.

Again, the Eagles fell behind in set two, conceding the first four points of the match before going on an 8-2 run to take the lead. It wasn't even their biggest run of the set. With the score tied at 11-11, the Eagles scored the next eight points to take a commanding 19-11 and cruise to the second set win.  Veale had two kills and Root had one during the set-sealing run.

Post found itself another challenge in the final set, this time falling behind 6-0. The Eagles quickly answered back with the next four points to put themselves in striking distance before finally taking a 12-11 lead after an attack error by Concordia. Post finished the job with a 13-4 run, including the last five points of the match. Senior Nakajai Mills (Meriden, Conn.) added two kills for the Eagles in the set.

Hunziker led the Eagles (4-8, 1-0 CACC) with eight kills on the evening and freshman Rylie Arms (Gilbert, Ariz) and Veale each finished with six.Arms Veale and Nelson each had three blocks on the game to lead all players and Root's 21 assists was a game high.
