Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Post University women's volleyball team dropped two matches on Saturday afternoon against both Saint Rose and Molloy. Saint Rose won 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-22) in the first match, and Molloy won the second match, 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-22).
Against Saint Rose, senior Brianna Root (Bristol, Conn.) had 27 assists and Madison Hunziker and Sarah Seger each had eight kills in the loss. The Eagles jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first match and were tied at 10-10 before St. Rose finished on a 15-9 run to end the game. In game two, the Eagles took a late 16-14 lead after a kill from Rylie Arms before Saint Rose finished off the game.
The Golden Knights jumped out to an 18-10 lead in the third set and never looked back in the third set for the win.
Against Molloy (4-1), Hunziker had nine kills to lead the Eagles (0-4) and Tatianna Rivas had
25 assists to lead the team.
Up next, the Eagles take on Assumption at 2 p.m. and LIU Post at 4 p.m. on September 2.
