CALDWELL, N.J. – The Post University women's lacrosse team fell to Caldwell 23-11 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) matchup on Tuesday afternoon. Junior
Toni Deren (Greenlawn, N.Y.) scored six goals in the loss and now sits at 99 career goals.
Deren got the scoring started for Post with a goal at the 27:31 mark of the first. The teams traded shots from there with junior
Alana Lopez (Wolcott, Conn.) and Deren each adding a goal to make the score 3-3 with 20:02 to go in the first half.
Caldwell took control from there scoring the next eight goals before Deren and freshman
Sydney Hogan (Northford, Conn.) stopped the run, cutting the deficit to 11-5. The Eagles trailed 14-6 at the break.
Sophomore
Jaylene Souto (Middletown, R.I.), freshman
Julia Thomas (Wading River, N.Y.), Hogan, and Deren each scored for Post in the second half.
Freshman goaltender
Noreen Donnelly (Staten Island, N.Y.) made 10 saves. Junior
Lauren Chambers (Lebanon, Pa.) led the Eagles with three ground balls and a caused turnover.
Post will play its final road game of the season on Saturday as it visits Holy Family for a CACC game beginning at noon.
