Frank Nichols Jr. (Carlsbad, Calif.) scored twice in the loss.
St. Rose grabbed an early 2-0 lead in the first quarter. Nichols Jr. cut the deficit to one with 2:53 to play in the quarter as he sent home a pass from junior
Sean Olsen (Old Bridge, N.J.). Olsen tallied three assists on the afternoon.
The Eagles made the most of a man-up opportunity in the second quarter as Olsen found sophomore
Corey Auten (Stratford, Conn.) to tie the game 2-2. A turnover by the Golden Knights gave Post possession midway through the second quarter. Freshman
Mark Colella (Goshen, N.Y.) put the Eagles in front 3-2 with his third goal of the year. St. Rose added a man-up score with 4:52 in the to tie the score at the break.
The visitors scored five straight times to start the third as St. Rose opened an 8-3 lead. Nichols stopped the bleeding with his second goal of the game late in the quarter, but the Golden Knights added two more and led 10-4 through three. Senior
Jon Hanlon (Centereach, N.Y.) added a goal with 9:41 to play off an assist from Colella to make the score 10-5.
Shots were close with St. Rose holding a 33-27 advantage overall and 27-17 on goal. The Eagles picked up a season-best 34 ground balls, led by sophomore
Chris Stahl (Tabernacle, N.J.) with six. He also had a team-high two caused turnovers.

Post wraps up its five-game homestand on Saturday against #18 Saint Anselm. Face-off is set for 3:30 p.m.
