Desrosiers Hits Five Three-Pointers, But Eagles Lose To Wilmington, 72-66

Newark, Del. – Senior Tyler Desrosiers (Agawam, Mass.) hit five three-pointers and finished with 21 points, but the Post University men's basketball team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game to Wilmington, 72-66 after a late rally fell short on Saturday afternoon.

With the Eagles (7-19, 6-11 CACC) down 58-48 with 5:53 remaining in the second half, the Eagles went on an 18-10 run, capped by a layup and free-throw by freshman Daniel Cabasa (Bronx, N.Y.) with 22 seconds left. After the Wildcats (15-11, 10-7 CACC) hit two free throws, the Eagles missed a three on the next possession and the Wildcats ended the game with two more free throws.

The Eagles took a 32-29 lead into the half, thanks to an opening 10-3 run as four different Eagles scored, including three points each by sophomore Savion Boissard (Walden, N.Y.) and Desrosiers.

The Wildcats would take a brief 17-15 lead, but a layup and dunk from Cabasa and sandwiched by a jumper from Desrosiers would give the Eagles a 21-17 lead with 6:33 left. The teams would be tied again at 25-25 with 2:57 left, but a three from Desrosiers and a jumper from freshman Jaylen Washington (Frederick, Md.) helped give the Eagles the halftime lead.

Boissard finished with 12 points and six rebounds. Junior Tamas Okros (Bristol, England) had 13 points and seven rebounds. Senior Joseph Lockwood (London, England) grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Eagles.

The Eagles made the most of their second chance opportunities, scoring 11 second chance points off of 17 offensive rebounds.

Nick Richards led all players in scoring with 31 points for the Wildcats. Jermaine Head had 23.

Up next for the Eagles is a CACC home game against Caldwell at 7:30 p.m. on February 21.
