SHELTON, Conn. – The Post University women's ice hockey team was defeated by St. Michael's 7-1 on Friday night at the SportsCenter of Connecticut. The Eagles finish their home schedule out tomorrow afternoon against the Purple Knights.
Sophomore goaltender
Jenna Baumgartner (Roseau, Minn.) made 20 saves in the first period to keep St. Michael's off the board. The Purple Knights took control with three goals, two short-handed, over the first 3:38 of the second period.
Freshman
Gwendolyn Lansky (Grass Lake, Mich.) fired a shot from just inside the blue line and scored for Post on a power-play 6:43 into the second to make the score 3-1. Sophomore
Sierra Alarid (Cheyenne, Wyo.) assisted on the score.
The Purple Knights scored twice more in the period and added two more in the third. Shots were 55-23 on the night in favor of St. Michael's. Baumgartner finished with 48 saves.
The two face off again tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
