Bronxville, N.Y. - The Eagles led by as many as five in the first half but were unable to overcome the Clippers 59% shooting in the second half. The five point lead came at the 12:56 mark in the first half but was followed by a 28-5 run by the Clippers to end the half, making the score 38-20 at the break.
Post received scoring contributions for seven different players in the first half, led by Levy Gillespie's four points on 2-4 shooting from the field. Gillespie led the Eagles in scoring on the game with 12 points on 5-8 shooting from the field, including 2-4 from deep. Gillespie added two rebounds, two assists and two steals in 15 minutes of play.
Throughout the season, Post has shown a great ability to bounce back in the second half from large deficits. Against Concordia they were able to trim a once 26 point second half lead to 11 at the 6:46 mark, but this was as close as they'd get.
Tamas Okros and Marcus Johnson each tallied four points and five rebounds. Okros also added two assists and two blocks.
Tyshon Rogers came up with three steals, which is right around his CACC leading average per game (3.3). Rogers was held to just nine points, which is the first time all season he did not score at least 12 points.
The Eagles will return to the Drub for their second home game of the season when they take on non-conference opponent American International College (3-6) on Sunday, Dec. 16 @ 1:00 p.m.
