Worcester, Mass. - The Eagles were averaging just around 2.5 goals per game before their last two contests with Stonehill College and Assumption College. In Tuesday's game against Assumption, the Eagles managed to rip 22 shots on goals but were unable to find the back of the net.
The Greyhounds scored an early first period goal as well as one late in the first period. They doubled up their two goal lead in second period by adding two more goals.
The Eagles held their own in the faceoff circle, led by Tyler Hackett (12-13) and Kieran Hurley (10-7). Evan Lugo and Lucas Smith shared the team lead in shots with five each.
Brandon Brown allowed four goals on 32 total shots on goal. Brown's strongest showing came in the third period when he saw 15 shots on goal and did not allow a goal.
Head Coach Pete Whitney on the game: "We played very strong especially in the second period but despite some quality chances we were unable to solve their goalie, we competed for 60 minutes but a couple mistakes put us in a hole we could not climb out of."
The Eagles will return to the ice in one month when they take on Wilkes University on January 5th at The Sports Center of Connecticut
