Post took a commanding 2-0 lead after scoring twice in the second period. The rink was rocking and everything seemed to be going right for the EaglesÂ
However, play screeched to a halt and momentum flipped on a dime in the third period. Each team sent three players to the box and Saint Anselm took advantage of the 3 on 3 by scoring twice in 12 seconds after winning two important faceoffs. Anselm would score a total fo four goals in the third period.Â
The Eagles missed on covering a penalty with a 2-1 lead in the third period. Momentum swung in the direction of Saint Anselm after their goalie's big save. Two quick goals by the Hawks came shortly after the missed penalty shot and it was as Anselm from there.Â
Head Coach Pete Whitney on the game, "We played two good periods but against a perennial league champion you need to play a full 60 minutes and we did not do that tonight".
