Kaitlyn Daly (Coquitlam, British Columbia) set an NCAA National Collegiate record with 89 saves, but the Post University women's hockey team lost a pair of games to Saint Anselm, 8-2 and 9-0 on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
Daly's record took place on Friday as she stopped 89 of 97 shots faced, including 37 saves in the first period.
Junior
Kendall Fitzgerald (Kamloops, British Columbia) scored her third goal of the season at 10:00 in the third period and
Savanna Stevenson scored her first goal of the season at 17:11 in the final period.
Katy Meehan and Caley Mueller each scored twice for Saint Anselm.
On Saturday, Daly and classmate
Kristin Smith (O'Fallon, Ill) combined for 64 saves in the loss. Fitzgerald led the team with three shots and junior
Molly Brumfield (Columbus, Ohio) won 23 of the 38 faceoffs, which was the most by either team in the game.
Meehan added two more goals for Saint Anselm.
Up next for the Eagles (2-10) are back-to-back games against Anna Maria on November 16-17. Friday's game will be hosted by Anna Maria and Saturday's will be hosted by Post.
